The Member Response Team, a joint venture between the Local Missions Committee and the Board of Deacons, is designed to enhance the coordination of our service outreach to church members. It is composed of a team of members (from Local Missions, Deacons, and at-large) who assess identified needs of WPC members and oversee the church’s response.
Special needs that the MRT may be called to consider could include employment, housing, food assistance, transportation, child care, etc. The MRT draws on the resources of Westminster, its members, existing church groups, and local social service and local government agencies to determine how best to meet identified needs. All requests and actions are confidential.
Current economic conditions have affected several families in our church community, and we often hear from members, “What can we do to help?” In addition to the limited amount the MRT receives from the church’s operating budget, the MRT distributes funds that church members have contributed to the church specifically for MRT use. These funds are used as emergency needs of members are brought to the team and assessed. To make a contribution for the use of the MRT, checks should be made out to Westminster Presbyterian Church with MRT in the memo line.
The Member Response Team is currently composed of:
Louise Anderson and Cicely Woodrow (Local Missions)
Carri Stoltz and Sam Ulm (Deacons)
Gail Donley, Martha Girard, Priscilla Goodwin and Sheila Hoben (at-large)
Staff liaisons: Rev. Larry Hayward and Eileen Jinks
