Flying Solo Singles Ministry

Flying Solo is a group for singles in their prime years (more or less 40 and above) belonging to the life and ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church. The group offers single adults the opportunity for Christian fellowship, spiritual and intellectual growth, and service to others. Fellowship Opportunities

 Tuesday, January 24:  Potluck at 7:00 pm in the Johnson Parlor.  We make sandwiches for Bag Lunch then enjoy dinner together.  Please bring a dish to share.

 Sunday, February 5:  Super Bowl Party at Nancy Harper’s, 5:30 pm.   Please bring salad, bread, appetizer, dessert or drinks to go with Nancy’s chili.  Come cheer on your favorite team!

Monday, February 13:  Dine-out at Extra Virgin, 4053 Campell Ave. in Shirlington. Carpool from the church at 7:00 p.m. or meet there at 7:15 p.m.

  Roundtable Discussions

The Flying Solo Roundtable Discussions are held approximately three times a year on Sunday afternoons immediately after the 11:00 a.m. service. We have a guest or staff facilitator who leads us in discussions. Topics are always interesting and relevant. Light lunch is included. Watch this site for further information on dates and topics.

 Retreats

Members of Flying Solo enjoy trips to various out-of-town locations, as a time to come together and reflect on various themes or topics.   During the retreats, we enjoy some relaxed time for extended conversations and fellowship with friends, delicious food, lively games, quiet prayer, group worship, joyful singing, snapping photos, reading, walking, exploring, laughing, crying and hugging.

Dine-out: Second Monday of the Month
Take the opportunity to try some moderately-priced local restaurants while enjoying a good conversation.

Potluck: Fourth Tuesdays of the Month
We gather each month for a casual potluck dinner and to participate in a mission project. Please bring a salad, entree or dessert to share.
